Officers
Mindy Gregory Sieber is the Executive Director of the New Art Center. With over 20 years of experience in for- and not-for-profit management, Gregory-Sieber, who is also a painter, was the Director of Newton Open Studios in 2006 and 2007. She established new nonprofit arts events in Newton, such as the Fall Art Show, which have raised the visibility of Newton art and artists and has also managed art businesses, marketing and event development. Gregory-Sieber has lived in Newton for 20 years, and all along has been an exhibition-goer, a student, and a supporter of the New Art Center.
Ceci Mendez is the Director of Exhibitions and Community Partnerships and is responsible for all of the shows in both the Main and Holzwasser Galleries. She has taught interdisciplinary arts classes and programs at the Addison Gallery of American Art and the Essex Art Center in Massachusetts. Most recently she spent four years at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, getting her Masters of Fine Arts degree and working with elementary school students in the Detroit public schools. She loves hamsters, squirrels, and chipmunks, and believes they are among the most beautiful creatures on earth.
Jessica Alexander is the Assistant Education Director and coordinates the vacation and summer programming at the New Art Center. Before joining the staff, Jessica worked at the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Science in Boston, working in visitor services and school programs. She just finished a graduate certificate in Museum Studies at Tufts University, and is excited to be part of the NAC full time! She brings with her a B.A. in Liberal Arts & Sciences from Utah State University in Logan, UT. Jessica is proud to be from the West and will be camping, going on road trips and watching turtles in her spare time.
Dana Berry is the Operations Manager for the New Art Center. Dana is in charge of building maintenance, coordinating birthday party and special event rentals, as well as office management. Making a shift from the media arts (film and television post production) to the visual arts, he is happy to be helping people with artistic, rather than commercial, creative aspirations. Dana grew up in Wellesley and has recently returned to the Boston area from California to “get the band back together!” and to finally watch the Red Sox and Patriots without feeling queasy.
Cori Champagne is Education Director and oversees the educational programming at the New Art Center. Cori has taught K-12 programs at Massachusetts College of Art, the ICA Boston, and North Shore Community College. She has run workshops for Very Special Arts of Massachusetts and presented at teacher professional development workshops. In addition to teaching, Cori has extensive experience coordinating and managing events, including five years as Co-director of Crafts at the Castle. She holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art, an MFA from Maine College of Art, and is a practicing studio artist. She likes Halloween, Hello magazine, and foods that end in the letter ‘a’.
