Kelly Knight

Kelly Knight is a fiber artist who works with a broad range of materials and processes, including sewing, weaving, dyeing, embroidery, painting, and paper and wire manipulation. Her work explores themes of ancestry, ownership of the past, connection to place, and the layers of physical and metaphysical imprints left behind in buildings. She studied textile design at UMass Dartmouth, and earned her BA in Creative Writing at Lesley University. In 2015 she was awarded the “Artist of the Year” distinction by the Cambridge Art Association. She teaches at New Art Center, the Eliot School of Fine & Applied Arts, and JP Knit and Stitch.
