Art Education

Overview

Connections is our free community outreach program which aims to increase access to and engagement with the visual arts. Connections is designed for school and community groups of all ages that uses art as a foundation for learning.

Connections has four components:

  • On site guided tours and workshops in our art exhibitions
  • Family visits of our exhibitions and art studios
  • Professional development for educators
  • A traveling program that meets with school and community groups on their own campuses

The New Art Center provides a unique first-rate learning opportunity to discover contemporary art and develop visual literacy skills. The Connections program, which is staffed by New Art Center artists and educators, is interdisciplinary and interactive and shows how the knowledge and appreciation of art is relevant in the contemporary world.
