The New Art Center in Newton operates two galleries and several satellite galleries:

Main Gallery

Our Main Gallery offers a 2,000 square foot space (1,800 s.f. exhibition space and 200 s.f. of storage and work space) with soaring ceilings. Exhibitions are awarded through the Curatorial Opportunity Program. The Main Gallery also hosts a variety of other types of exhibitions such as community partner exhibitions.

Holzwasser Gallery

The Holzwasser Gallery was created in 1991 and was made possible through a generous donation from Mary Holzwasser (1912-2003), an artist, New Art Center board member, student and lifelong patron of the arts. The bequest is used to enhance the learning available in our studios and enliven the conversation about teaching, learning and participation in the arts through projects like the Artist in Residence program. A major educational feature of the Holzwasser Gallery program offers New Art Center students, faculty, staff and volunteers an opportunity to present their current work in a professional gallery guided by New Art Center exhibitions staff.
