September 8, 2014 Job Title: Marketing Manager Supervisor: Executive Director Job Description Position Summary The New Art Center supports the development of visual artists and cultivates a community that appreciates art. Our organization is growing and recently created a full time Marketing Manager position. We are looking for a high energy, engaging and proactive problem solver willing to learn our business and represent our organization in the most professional and student-focused manner. In addition to exceptional attention to detail, this position requires: • Excellent WORD, Excel experience including strong math ability. • Having a very positive, helpful attitude and friendly etiquette while talking to our students and vendors. • Exceptional ability to multi-task and remain focused in a busy, high energy gallery and studio environment. • Ability to be self-directed and work alone when necessary. Position Details • Work with New Art Center branding and overall marketing strategy to increase awareness of the Center both locally and throughout Massachusetts, through the creation of email marketing campaigns, collateral, online material, and social media, among other methods. Analyze the effectiveness of different marketing strategies to create targeted campaigns. • Design and prepare catalogs and calendars for education and exhibition programming - from start to finish. Work with gallery staff and local media outlets to create press releases for upcoming exhibitions, and with education staff to market classes and workshops. • Serve as liaison with neighborhood business, catalog distribution, sandwich board placement. Create signage for the Center, create visibility on community boards, and maintain community events material at the Center. • Coordinate a diverse range of marketing events including donor appreciation activities, childrens’ camp fairs, Newtonville Day, Newton Harvest Fair, and our annual fundraising arts ball. Oversee committees and marketing interns to achieve event goals. Experience and Requirements • Must have 3-5 years' experience with full range of marketing tools. • Experience with fundraising and/or grant writing a very significant plus. • Must have a car and be able to work some nights and weekends. • Excellent written and graphic communication skills required. • Familiarity with Office, InDesign, Photoshop, Constant Contact, FileMaker Pro, basic content management systems and Google Apps for Business required.
