Renting the Art Center Facilities

All of our instructors are professional artists who come to teaching through a discipline and who share their knowledge and training because they love what they do. If you would like to teach at the New Art Center, now is the time to propose your "dream course".

Proposals are accepted on an on-going basis and must be submitted at least three months prior to the start of the semester (semesters start in January, April, July and September). Teaching proposals may involve courses using several media, organized around themes, working across arts, around social, cultural or historical concepts. Our facilities include 2 ceramics studios, 2 visual arts studios, a dedicated children's studio and two galleries.

Our programs are structured in four semesters:

Winter: January - March
Spring: April - June
Summer: July - August
Fall: September - December

Adult courses run in the mornings, evenings and weekends, and childrens programs run in the afternoons and weekends.

To apply, send the following to 61 Washington Park, Newtonville, MA 02460:

Cover letter describing your teaching experience, skills and availability.

Resume plus additional documentation if available.

Course proposal(s) including framework and description, principles and/or techniques taught, goals, required materials, and scheduling and time requirements.

Two references, one may be from a previous student.

Maximum of one slide sheet, if appropriate .

Identify a target market - who will take this course, anticipated interests, levels of experience, and the best way to reach that population.
